The Forensic and Litigation Consulting practice at FTI Consulting provides multidisciplinary, independent dispute advisory, investigative, data acquisition/analysis and forensic accounting services to the global business and legal community. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
FTI is looking for accounting professionals with experience that includes technical and forensic accounting as well as analytical skills. These services should be provided to public and privately held companies and large client situations. This is an excellent opportunity to become a player in the historic changes taking place in the accounting profession and corporate America.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
• Supervise and perform day-to-day activities of projects including interaction with client personnel, other team members, and professionals from other firms involved in accounting advisory and forensic and litigation consulting engagements
• Performs day-to-day activities in support of technical accounting advisory projects including interaction with client personnel, other team members, and professionals from other firms involved in the engagement • Applies accounting, financial, and analytical skills to various client situations and practice disciplines, such as detailed reviews of financial statements and underlying accounting records, preparation of projections, and preparation of worksheets to model business processes • Develops work plans and executes analyses to assess complex questions of fact, assists in preparing reports and schedules summarizing findings that will be delivered to clients and other parties • Performs technical industry and company research utilizing online tools and publicly available information • Understanding of and experience with application and research of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ("U.S. GAAP") and relevant auditing standards required • Familiarity and knowledge of application of SEC rules and regulations required • Proficient in use and application of MS Excel in analysis of accounting-related data • Experience with use of intermediate / advanced Excel formulas and application in data analysis • Organizes information and data to facilitate effective and value-added analyses • Develops a complete understanding of FTI's business segment offerings and uses that knowledge to recognize opportunities for FTI to help meet the needs of current and future clients • Delivers a high-quality product within established timeframes and budgets
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field • Six plus years of finance or accounting experience • Accountants must have an active CPA license or working towards at the time of application • Ability and willingness to travel up to 60% of the time (annualized)
PREFERRED SKILLS:
• Master's Degree in accounting, finance, or related field • Strong technical accounting, finance, and SEC disclosure skills • Advanced analytical and issue resolution intelligence, problem solving is essential • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Well-developed aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis • Ability to work independently in fast-paced, multi-tasked environment • Ability to interface with team members and client personnel in demanding, deadline-driven situations • Ability and willingness to learn and adapt in an ever-changing environment to meet client needs
