ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Human Resources Associate is a member of the global HR organization and will be dedicated to providing guidance to the firm's contingent population. The incumbent will be exposed to all aspects of the HR function provides HR and operational support to the FTI Acuity business as a member of the human resources team. This role will be exposed to all aspects of Human Resources Administration in a fast-paced environment.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
• Collaborate with internal corporate HR specialty groups (Employee relations, HRIS, Benefits) to adapt and scale initiatives to Acuity
• Execute employment lifecycle processes (onboarding, benefits eligibility, offboarding, rehires, transfers); maintain integrity of HRIS, physical employee personnel files, shared HR electronic records, and benefit provider websites
• Maintenance and administration of the background check process including; reviewing and approving background results with no criminal hits in accordance with FTI standards, forwarding background results with criminal hits to HR Manager, and reporting approval and denial codes to Sterling
• Provide overall support for people resources to complete daily tasks; coordinate operations for short-term increased business demands
• Liaise with external HR Vendors to maintain business relationship; establish workflows and processes (Sterling, WageWorks, ADP); reconcile vendor invoices for accuracy; perform cost benefit analysis; identify cost savings
• Work with management to advise first line managers on performance management, employee relations, and involuntary terminations in accordance with company policies and legislative developments
• Assist with Acuity group legal compliance (local ordinances regarding jury duty, sick leave, and parental leave; I-9 compliance, new hire data security, harassment, and ethics training; federal healthcare reporting; court support orders and garnishments); coordinate and maintain integrity of employee training documentation; ensure submission of training documentation is received.
• Update, maintain, and interface with employees regarding all benefits - including medical benefits, leaves of absence, accommodations, commuter benefits, unemployment audits, and worker's compensation claims
• Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping human resource information confidential
• Respond to employee requests in a timely manner and escalate inquiries to HR Manager, as needed
• Serve as a weekly payroll backup
• Special projects/other duties as assigned
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) is preferred, however, relevant and applicable work experience will be considered in lieu of degree
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience supporting human resources or operations
PREFERRED SKILLS:
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills
• Comfort interacting with all levels of the organization
• Demonstrated organizational skills and experience managing multiple ongoing projects
• Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Suite applications
• Experience with ADP and Taleo software
• Work effectively in a team setting yet independently with minimal supervision
