The Forensic and Litigation Consulting practice at FTI Consulting provides multidisciplinary, independent dispute advisory, investigative, data acquisition/analysis and forensic accounting services to the global business and legal community. About The Opportunity:
FTI is looking for professionals with a minimum of 5 years of experience. Public accounting, litigation consulting, and/or regulatory experience, a plus.
Responsibilities include providing technical accounting, forensic accounting and other analytical skills to various client situations. This is an excellent opportunity to become a player in the historic changes taking place in the accounting profession and corporate America.
Primary Duties:
Performs technical industry and company research utilizing online tools and publicly available information.
Understanding of and experience with application and research of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ("U.S. GAAP") and relevant auditing standards required.
Familiarity and knowledge of application of SEC rules and regulations required.
Develops work plans and executes analyses to assess complex questions of fact, assists in preparing reports and schedules summarizing findings that will be delivered to clients and other parties.
Supervises and performs day-to-day activities in support of forensic and litigation consulting and technical accounting advisory projects including interaction with client personnel, other team members, and professionals from other firms involved in the engagement.
Applies accounting, financial, and analytical skills to various client situations and practice disciplines, such as detailed reviews of financial statements and underlying accounting records, preparation of complex cash flow projections, and preparation of worksheets to model business processes.
Develops a complete understanding of FTI's business segment offerings and uses that knowledge to recognize opportunities for FTI to help meet the needs of current and future clients.
Develops new business relationships with attorneys and company personnel to grow FTI's business and works to foster on-going sales efforts to obtain additional opportunities for FTI.
Organizes information to facilitate effective data access and analysis.
Supervises more junior team member's analyses.
Maintains detailed working paper records reflecting assumptions, methodologies, and sources of information employed during the performance of all analytical tasks.
Delivers a high quality product within established timeframes and budgets.
Prepares written analyses and other reports for third parties, as necessary, on the project scope and/or results of activities. Prepares presentations and quantitative exhibits for third parties on the project scope and findings.
Develops and maintains productive working relationships with client personnel.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors or Master's Degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
Accountants must have an active CPA license at the time of application.
Preferred Skills:
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Five or more years of finance or accounting experience.
Strong technical accounting, finance, and SEC disclosure skills.
Advanced analytical and issue resolution intelligence, problem solving is essential.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Well-developed aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Ability to work independently in fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.
Ability to interface with team members and client personnel in demanding, deadline-driven situations.
Ability and willingness to learn and adapt in an ever-changing environment to meet client needs.
Ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously while managing time and budget.
Prior experience managing teams and the developing others.
Proficient with PC environments and related software, including Microsoft Office applications, especially advanced skills in Excel.
Proficient use and analysis of computer models and development of dynamic spreadsheet applications.
