About the Opportunity
The Acuity Human Resources HR Manager will be an integral member of the Acuity HR team and will work closely with the Acuity Practice Leader and Operations team and is responsible for: managing the HR needs of the Acuity business; assisting with the sourcing and acquiring of top tier legal document reviewers to enable Acuity to succeed in the dynamic market environment; the creation, management and documentation of processes for hiring and onboarding; termination and offboarding of employees; ensuring compliance to company-wide and Acuity specific policies, practices and principles; managing an outsourced HRIS and payroll vendor; and assisting with the management and administration of Acuity benefit program offerings.
Primary Duties:
Talent Development & Employee Engagement
The Acuity Human Resources Manager will work with other HR team members (both Acuity & Segment HR), Acuity leadership, Acuity Operations team members and employees to implement performance management, coaching and feedback and learning and development solutions.
Ø Develop, manage and administer the Acuity Performance Management process to ensure that employees receive informal and formal performance feedback and corrective actions are implemented as necessary.
Ø Manage the Acuity Reviewers learning & development needs by:
o Collaborating with Acuity leadership to define needs and with the L&D team to define programs to support the needs.
o Assisting in the design and delivery of learning and development programs related to performance management, employee growth and development, diversity & inclusion and the various policies specific to the Acuity population.
Ø Coaches HR team members and accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining direct reports, developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures.
Workforce Planning and HR Operations
Ø Partner with Acuity Leadership and Operational leadership to fulfill people strategy aligned with the Acuity business plan.
Ø Partner with Acuity Staffing & Operational Leadership to ensure Acuity review projects (new and ongoing) are appropriately staffed.
Ø Serve as the HR liaison for Acuity personnel, vendors and management relating to human resources, payroll and other HR matters and to ensure adherence to FTI Corporate and FTI Technology policies and practices.
Ø Work closely with other members on the Acuity HR and Operational teams on managing employee lifecycle process to create:
o an efficient and effective onboarding process that ensures that new employee transition is smooth and timely and that all HR administrative/compliance responsibilities are complete.
o an out-going employee process as Acuity projects are completed or require reduction in scale that have leavers feel FTI Acuity is a place to recommend others, ensures all HR administrative/compliance needs are met.
Ø Assist the Acuity HR team members and Operational team in managing and implementing the necessary transactional aspects of Acuity HR duties.
Ø Prepare and maintain Acuity specific HR reporting and metrics for Acuity & Segment leadership.
Ø Responsible for employee relations matters arising within the Acuity sector, engaging other stakeholders as required to resolve matters and to manage organizational risk and protect the FTI and FTI Acuity brand in the market.
Ø Develop and implement operational processes and related documentation to meet Acuity HR business needs while complying with FTI-wide business and HR policies, practices, and principles
Ø Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience.
• Knowledge of various HR state employment laws
• Experience across multiple HR functions
• Experience in dealing with employee relations issues and the ability to facilitate the resolution of issues.
• Highly effective interpersonal skills and a cooperative and approachable manner with internal clients and colleagues at all levels.
• A good empathic listener with the ability to gathering and analyze information and determine and appropriate solution or approach. A problem-solver.
• Organized, including having the ability to prioritize, request assistance when necessary, work independently and quickly respond to situations and tasks in deadline-driven situations.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully manage conflict and ambiguity.
• High degree of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
Preferred Skills:
• Ability to think through a process, consider various solutions, solve problems effectively and tenaciously follow-through to ensure success
• HR experience in legal, staffing, shared services or outsourcing environment
• Experience in a legal/electronic discovery or document review environment
• Prior experience with ADP system solutions in multiple areas, including HR, benefits, time keeping, payroll
• Knowledge of PC and network environment; Proficiency in use of standard company software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Ability to communicate, transfer knowledge and influence all levels of management in a professional and positive manner with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to effectively contribute in a dynamic results-oriented work environment
• Makes effective use of technology and other resources to accomplish various HR processes
