ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

The team directly supports the CEO, FTI's Executive Committee, and other senior leaders within FTI's corporate infrastructure teams on strategic and change initiatives including: • Defining the overall corporate strategy across FTI's portfolio of businesses
• Supporting M&A / business development activity (due diligence, valuation, integration)
• Tracking professional services industry trends including M&A activity and deal comparables
• Identifying and driving growth opportunities within the segments and regions
This role has tremendous potential for growth and upside - Strategy team members are approached with opportunities to move into business segment, regional and functional roles or can expand their responsibilities and professional growth through promotions within the team.
This position will report within the Strategy team with dual reporting line to the Head of Marketing and Business Development. The Strategy team is based in FTI's Washington DC office in close proximity to FTI's C-suite. This role will be based in Washington, DC or New York, NY. This role requires minimal travel (5-10%).
PRIMARY DUTIES:
• Drive acquisition process and execution including building financial models, financial and strategic due diligence, valuation and letters of intent • Analyze and model financials and valuations for potential acquisition targets
• Track and monitor public and private transaction comparables
• Track and monitor professional services industry M&A trends • Maintain database of potential acquisition targets, working with FTIs Segments and Regions
• Disaggregate complex business problems, teaming with members of the Strategy team and clients to develop hypotheses-driven analyses and recommendations
• Conduct rigorous analyses on internal operational data, including financial performance, key operating indicators, and other related topics • Develop original insights and recommendations to support leadership discussions and decisions
• Prepare clear, well-written documents to facilitate fact-based discussions with senior leadership
• Collaborate within the Strategy team and with the Business Development team and across the company, including (but not limited to) finance, accounting, HR, IT, and business segments to deliver initiatives
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree
• 3 - 5 Years of investment banking, private equity or corporate development experience
PREFERRED SKILLS:
• Advanced Excel modeling skills, experience with PowerPoint and Word
• Solid quantitative ability and structured thinking, with relevant experience • Exceptional organizational and project management skills and demonstrated experience
• Flexibility to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize as needed to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment • Decisiveness and demonstrated use of informed judgement while providing transparency to assumptions
• Must be able to interact, communicate and collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization
• Self-driven - ability to work with limited supervision on assigned workstreams
• Ability to work in a team, to deliver within tight deadlines
• Ability to express and present own opinion using objective argumentation skills
• Demonstrated ability to present to and engage with senior management
• Self-aware and proactively seeks out opportunities to build skills; is responsive to coaching/ feedback
• Passion for driving transformational change across the enterprise
