About the Center:
The Center for Healthcare Economics and Policy ("Center") is a separate business unit of the Economics Practice within FTI Consulting, Inc. The Center applies cutting-edge economics and quantitative methods to assist clients in developing and implementing market-based solutions across the spectrum of healthcare activity. At the Center, we work with healthcare constituents in communities to improve healthcare delivery at reduced costs and to provide greater value for consumers and communities. We do so by providing cutting edge economic tools and quantitative methods to enable local healthcare stakeholders to define and implement needed market-based and market-wide change; empirically determining the most relevant and actionable metrics on population health, costs, access, and resource utilization and alignment for individual communities to drive Triple Aim goals; and applying these empirical methods objectively to the unique characteristics of healthcare delivery that occur in each community. The Center focuses on developing community-based healthcare solutions that actively involve local governments, health insurers, employers and providers of acute, mental and social healthcare services. The Center also provides economic analysis to help hospitals and health systems navigate the complex healthcare landscape in times of substantial change. Our analyses utilize sophisticated economic modelling and simulation to predict future demand for services to provide organizations insights into how to maintain quality and reduce costs, as well as to properly deploy constrained resources. Our staff includes academically trained economists with extensive industry expertise and decades of policy and applied experience in the public and private sector. Our experts have testified before antitrust agencies and published seminal articles on antitrust issues in the healthcare industry.
