Professionals within our Marketing and Communications, Information Technology, Finance and Accounting, Human Resources, Office Infrastructure, Legal, and Real Estate teams are dedicated to working together and delivering world class support across our global community.



FTI's internal business development research team is looking for an experienced professional to lead business development research for select practices across the firm. This role will be responsible for continuing to build and implement a program that provides business leaders with fully developed research and analysis, strengthening their sales pipeline and driving new business. As part of a growing centralized resource, deployed to assist FTI's five segments globally, the ideal candidate will be intellectually nimble, have strong expertise in focused industries and practice areas, and have a strong customer service orientation. We work in partnership with our experts to source qualified opportunities, strengthen pursuits, develop deeper client relationships, and assist in "ad hoc" business development efforts across the firm. This individual will also help support various executive level initiatives, including the firm's key accounts program.

Primary Duties

• Develop a business development program for assigned practice area. • Create a strong partnership with business leaders to encourage their use of business development research, and demonstrate how this program can add value to their business development efforts.

• Have deep market expertise to provide in-depth business and legal research and analysis, curated from a variety of reputable sources and carefully edited, to enhance the business leaders with their go to market strategy and business development.

• Identify, monitor and evaluate potential opportunities (both disputes and non-disputes) and disseminate that information on a regular basis; drive follow-up activity with senior business leaders

• Maintain strong relationships with our client-facing professionals and proactively seek opportunities to collaborate with them to drive business development

• Understand client problems and situations; bring a deep understanding of FTI and what we do, aligning the best parts of the firm to solving our clients' needs

• Collaborate with senior team members across departments, including business segments, regions, and industry teams to support business development activities.

• Managing in-depth research projects for C-Suite executives, to prep them for C-suite key account meetings. Respond quickly to inbound research requests

• Enthusiastically take on new challenges; find and effectively communicate comprehensive solutions

• Support key account program management, including identification of key clients, account planning, coordinating account activity and tracking and reporting results

Preferred Skills

• 8+ years professional level legal and business research experience • Strong preference towards individuals with a professional services background

• Familiarity interacting directly with senior professionals

• Experience implementing and using technology-enabled tools to increase efficiency and routinize some information gathering tasks

• Deep knowledge of standard business and legal research tools, such as Courtlink, Factiva, Bloomberg Law, LexisNexis, Westlaw, and Capital IQ.

• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written

• Proven ability to juggle multiple priorities under tight deadlines • Work well individually and as part of a team

• Advanced knowledge of computer software programs (Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint)
