Contingent Aviation Intelligence/Targeting Subject Matter Expert

Ausley Associates is pleased to recruit for the newest member of our premier team; Aviation Intelligence/Targeting Subject Matter Expert. This position will provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to support Naval Aviation Distributed Training Center (NADTC) at Oceana Naval Air Station, Virginia.

Essential Job Functions of this Position:

The Aviation Intelligence/Targeting SME will support the development of Fleet Synthetic Training mission scenarios to maximize F/A-18 training. He/She will contribute to the development of training scenarios linked to Carrier Air Wing large force employment missions. Will coordinate and provide mission planning materials for scenario execution. The SME will work directly with weapons instructors to create realistic/current training scenarios to ensure participants achieve maximum training. This position will require a comprehensive working knowledge of intelligence support operations, procedures, and practices.

Additional responsibilities may include:
  • Develop and provide INTEL assessment and targeting material to aircrew training audience
  • Assist NADTC operators in executing FST-A exercises
  • Provide detailed intelligence analysis for mission planning, aircrew briefings and debriefings
  • Provide worldwide threat employment capabilities, tactics, techniques, and procedures
  • Perform assigned operational intelligence research and analysis
  • Assist in aircrew pre-deployment spin-up training
  • Assist with Privileged User Information Systems functions

Qualifications - Education and Relevant Years of Experience

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of eight (8) years of related experience is required. A minimum of three (3) years of Navy or USAF Unit Level Intelligence is required; experience in Navy TACAIR/CVM operations is highly desired. Joint Targeted School Graduate (3A1 or 3A2) and Operational Aviation Intel Officer experience is also highly desired.

Additional qualifications include:
  • Familiarity with Air Warfare (Counter Air/Counter Air Defense), surface warfare, and strike-based threat training
  • Expertise with intelligence systems, order of battle maintenance, mission planning, threat analysis, and GI&S support
  • Expertise on operational intelligence related subjects to include worldwide surface-to-air missile (SAM), air-to-air missile (AAM), anti-aircraft artillery (AAA), aircraft capabilities and employment
  • Experience, knowledge, and ability to perform receipt, accounting storage, and destruction functions for classified document control is required
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have an active Secret security clearance and eligibility for Top-Secret/SCI
