- Installs hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers and disk drives on users' premises
- Performs direct user support and issue resolution using a trouble ticket system
- Loads appropriate software packages such as operating systems, networking components and office applications
- Assists in the customization and adaptation of existing programs to meet users' requirements
- Provides telephone, in-person and remote/online support to end-users
- Coordinates activities with other department level personnel
- Provides updates, status and completion information to manager and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail or in-person communication
- Refers major hardware problems to service personnel or vendors as necessary
- Connects users to networks and provides initial training in facilities and applications

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
Lifting and moving computer equipment and other electronics or items up to 55 lbs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EST. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Rare travel (less than five times a year) may be required for this position to support training, conference attendance, or operational needs at remote sites.
Qualifications - Education and Relevant Years of Experience
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in related positions and environments
Preferred Education and Experience
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in technical field
- Experience in administration of Microsoft Office 365
- Experience with providing unassisted, direct support to users
- Experience configuring and deploying systems to users
- Experience managing incoming ticket volumes alongside project tasking
