Ausley Associates is pleased to recruit for the newest member of our premier team; Senior Acquisition Specialist. This position supports PMA 281 at the Patuxent River NAS.

Essential Job Functions of this Position:

The Senior Acquisition Specialist will join our PMA 281 team at Patuxent River NAS. He/She will be responsible for the following:
  • Reviewing milestone decision documentation to ensure compliance with all aspects of the DoD and SECNAV 5000 series directives.
  • Conducting research and provides recommendations to support the development of program acquisition strategies.
  • Supporting the preparation of documentation such as Acquisition Plans (AP), Acquisition Strategy Reports (ASR), Statement of Work (SOW), Procurement Initiation Document (PID), funding documents, contract awards, agreements, and Acquisition Program Baseline Agreements (APBA).
  • Assessing program procedures, practices, philosophies, and documentation for compliance with specifications, contracts, and mission requirements.
  • Attending, participating, supporting, analyzing, providing input, developing, preparing and reporting on briefs, point papers, reports, correspondence, meetings, conferences, and review boards.
  • Will also Integrate business and technical methodologies to provide support of hardware, software and service acquisition and life cycle management.

Qualifications - Education and Relevant Years of Experience
Master's degree in Business, Management or relevant technical discipline and a minimum of ten (10) years of experience related to weapon systems acquisition, including logistics, research and development, configuration management or systems design/analysis. Bachelor's degree and fourteen (14) years of related experience may substitute in lieu of the Master's degree requirement. Should have demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: program management, systems engineering, major system acquisition, financial management, test and evaluation or integrated logistics support. Knowledge in one or more of the following areas is desired: system acquisition, acquisition documentation, configuration management, risk analysis and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) or Government Furnished Information (GFI). Demonstrated knowledge, and/or familiarity with the DoD and SECNAV 5000 acquisition series, Federal and DoD acquisition regulations and PPBE processes are also desired. Familiarity with Join Mission Planning Systems (JMPS) as either a user or in the acquisition field is considered a plus.

Must have an active Secret security clearance.
