Essential Job Functions of this Position:
The JSTARS Subject Matter Expert will facilitate the DTS's support of daily Combat Air Forces (CAF) DMO training through scheduling scenario development, mission planning and execution materials, brief, execution and debrief support for Large Force Employment (LFE) and Small Team events. The candidate may attend CAF exercise planning conferences, meetings and site visits to gain a better understanding of unit training requirements. Responsibilities include a thorough knowledge of E-8 employment and training requirements. To accomplish these unit training requirements he/she will develop the executable Computer Generated Forces (CGF) scenarios, mission materials and briefs for the diverse aircrew training audience. The JSTARS Subject Matter Expert is the focal point for the execution of the DMO missions while acting as the white force. He/she will assist the DTC Mission Director in regulating the flow of timely injects throughout the training event.
Additional duties may include:
Candidate may provide consulting expertise to military and/or defense clients to develop and evaluate military training and doctrine. Candidate may provide specialized planning and/or execution expertise in specialized phases of military training exercises--including doctrinal development, scenario development, and after-action review and analysis.
Qualifications - Education and Relevant Years of Experience
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of ten (10) years of USAF rated experience (equivalent USN/USMC experience will be considered) is required. Must be an experienced Fighter Pilot/WSO, Bomber Pilot/WSO or Air Battle Manager (ABM). Must possess thorough knowledge of AFTTP 3-1 guidance and have operationally relevant rated experience within the past five (5) years.
Experienced Mission Commander or Instructor Pilot/WSO/ABM is desired. A Weapons School Graduate, experience with Combat Air Forces DMO exercises and simulations and ALO/CAC/ASOC experience is also desired.
Must possess a current DoD Secret Clearance with ability to upgrade to TS/SCI and SAP/SAR.
