Proposal Lead

Ausley Associates is pleased to recruit for the newest member of our premier team; Proposal Lead. This position will work under the supervision of the Proposal Manager and serve as an integral part of our Corporate Business Development team, coordinating the proposal development process from start to finish.

Essential Job Functions of this Position:

Will serve as the lead for individual RFP responses by assigning responsibilities across all required business units to build the proposal response. He/She will create and manage content, assemble proposals and handle client communications in response to RFPs, RFIs and RFQs. Working within a deadline-driven environment, the Proposal Lead will coordinate the RFP process with the Capture and Proposal Managers to include developing a work plan, delegating work streams to subject matter experts, writing content, editing content, and formatting document layouts. He/She will have the ability to develop clear action plans and drive processes with numerous interdependencies. The candidate will thrive in a detail-oriented environment that also involves completing regular database entries. Our ideal candidate understands how proposal production drives business development and will be responsible for responding to complex RFP requirements in a compelling and organized manner. This person will create persuasive documents that demonstrate the company's unique value propositions. The Proposal Lead will also partner with subject matter experts to develop new content to fill information voids and manage ad-hoc requests for information, such as, data calls to/from teammates, as needed. The Proposal Lead will also amass potential business pursuit content into a central database.

Specific responsibilities will include:
  • Responsible for reviewing RFP requirements to ensure the requirements are clearly understood and met.
  • Collect and collate any questions on the RFP package for submission to the RFP originator.
  • Organize and outline proposal structure and create a storyline with production deadlines.
  • Gather and research information relevant to each proposal, including resumes and project summaries.
  • Design and draft original copy that communicates Ausley's value and sales message.
  • Proofread and edit documents for accuracy, consistency and relevance to customer objectives.
  • Print and assemble final proposal packages, obtain required signatures and notarization when required, bind and process shipping labels and guarantee deadlines are met.
  • Manage and maintain physical and electronic filing systems such as MS SharePoint.
  • Engage in written and verbal communication with proposal teammates throughout the process.
  • Support reporting and record-keeping initiatives related to the proposal cycle and new contracts.

Qualifications - Education and Relevant Years of Experience

Bachelor's degree and at minimum of five (5) years of experience in the proposal development process as a Proposal Coordinator or Lead is required.
  • The candidate must have talent to effectively articulate complex technical solutions in writing and have excellent business writing and copy-editing skills.
  • Must also have proven graphic design skills and acumen for creative design/layout.
  • He/she should also have experience working with external service providers such as printers, third party designers, etc.
  • Should also have experience in writing case studies, white papers, newsletters and have a strong command of Microsoft Office applications as well as SharePoint Administration experience.
