Description We are seeking a Senior Virtualization Engineer to support infrastructure initiatives for the Air Force Reserve Command environment at Robins AFB. This role will focus on optimizing and maintaining an existing VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) deployment while supporting the rollout of a new VCF fleet architecture. The environment currently runs VCF 5.2 and will expand to a VCF 9 fleet, consisting of a management domain and up to 14 workload domains. The engineer will play a key role in performance optimization, security hardening, and ensuring compliance with Department of Defense security standards. This is an onsite role within a secure government environment, requiring hands-on experience with VMware infrastructure and familiarity with DoD security compliance requirements. Key Responsibilities Support and optimize an existing VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 5.2 environment. Assist with the deployment and scaling of the VCF 9 Fleet architecture, including management and workload domains. Perform configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting across virtualization infrastructure. Implement STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guide) hardening and compliance for deployed appliances and systems. Monitor system health, performance, and capacity planning within the virtualized infrastructure. Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and platform teams to ensure reliable and secure system operations. Support lifecycle management including patching, upgrades, and configuration updates across VMware platforms. Document architecture, configurations, and operational procedures for government compliance and internal teams. Requirements Active Secret security clearance. Strong experience administering VMware virtualization environments. Hands-on experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) or similar enterprise virtualization platforms. Experience implementing or maintaining STIG compliance in secure environments. Strong troubleshooting and infrastructure optimization skills within virtualized environments. Ability to work onsite within a government facility.
