Job Description:

InGenesis is currently seeking a Registered Nurse / RN to work with our client. In this role, you will provide general nursing care to our patient population in a corrections facility. Will be required to work the weekend every third week.

Primary Job Duties
  • Provide comprehensive health care to 20-60 bedridden inmates, including:
    • Conducting medical rounds and evaluating care needs
    • Developing care plans and educating on health care principles
    • Administering medications, including narcotics
    • Delivering direct nursing care as needed
  • Perform specialized medical procedures such as:
    • IV therapy, chemotherapy, wound care, and oxygen therapy
    • Dialysis, blood transfusions, intubation, CPR
    • Tube feeding, catheterization, suctioning, and phlebotomy
  • Lead and organize emergency response:
    • Oversee 'Code Blue' team operations
    • Supervise hospital aides and licensed practical nurses
  • Assist physicians with diagnostic health evaluations for students
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Administrative & Clerical Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation:
    • Chart medications, treatments, and medical information
    • Complete incident, accident, and Medicaid reports
    • Order and inventory supplies, equipment, and controlled substances
  • Coordinate external medical services:
    • Schedule outpatient clinic appointments and school physician exams
    • Manage prescription orders and refills through local pharmacy
  • Perform administrative and liaison duties:
    • Attend and conduct meetings
    • Serve as instructor and participate in problem-solving teams

Minimum Qualifications
  • Current RN license in the state of Ohio.
  • Biennial renewal of licensure as a registered nurse.
  • Current immunizations.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Computer literate.
