InGenesis is currently seeking a Physician Administrator 2 to work with our client. In this role, you will oversee the medical care of residents at two developmental centers, which currently house adults but only accept children as new patients. This role involves planning, coordinating, and directing medical services in compliance with Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID) standards. The position requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and may involve exposure to unpredictable resident behavior.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and implement medical policies and procedures to ensure compliance with ICF/IID standards.
- Serve as the primary care physician for designated residents, including conducting physicals, diagnosing conditions, prescribing treatments, and maintaining documentation.
- Collaborate with Certified Nurse Practitioners and interdisciplinary team members (e.g., psychology, psychiatry, case managers, nursing staff, family/guardians).
- Provide medical consultation to facility committees (e.g., admissions, infection control, emergency preparedness, medication review, human rights).
- Supervise and support lower-level medical staff and health care professionals.
- Participate in the development and implementation of public health policies and grant proposals related to maternal and child health services.
- Respond to and manage infectious disease outbreaks and other public health concerns in coordination with relevant departments.
Qualifications:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with a valid license to practice in Ohio.
- Board certification in a relevant specialty preferred.
- Experience in developmental disabilities, pediatrics, or public health is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
Work Environment:
- Facility houses adults but only admits children as new patients.
