Job Description:

InGenesis is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our dental care team. The ideal candidate will support high-quality dental care by performing a variety of clinical and administrative duties. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, safety, and teamwork in fast-paced clinical environments.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care
  • Prepare and maintain dental exam rooms and equipment.
  • Assist the dentist chairside during procedures.
  • Provide oral hygiene education and post-treatment instructions to patients.
  • Record treatment information in Electronic Dental Records (EDR).
  • Ensure patient comfort and manage patient flow efficiently.

Commitment to Quality
  • Deliver excellent patient experiences and contribute to quality outcomes.
  • Collaborate effectively with dental providers and team members.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and quality improvement initiatives.

Administrative Support
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient check-ins.
  • Answer phones and update patient records.
  • Maintain inventory and order dental supplies.
  • Perform equipment maintenance and sterilization procedures.

Additional Duties may be performed under supervision
  • Radiographic imaging and photography.
  • Application of topical agents and fluoride.
  • Placement/removal of rubber dams and impressions for non-prosthodontic appliances.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Dental Assistant preferred.
  • BLS Certification (American Heart Association approved).
  • Radiation Safety Certificate (California Board approved).
  • All certifications must be current and from California Board-approved programs.

Physical Requirements
  • Required to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Required to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects.
  • Must be able to make fast, repeated movements of fingers, hands, and wrists.
  • Must be able to bend or twist their body for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to coordinate movement of several parts of the body, such as arms and legs, while the body is moving.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and carry 35 pounds.
  • Must be able to see details at a close range.
