Job Description:

InGenesis is currently seeking a Medical Director to work with our client. In this role, you will provide ongoing, integrated, and high-quality medical services to the residents of Stockley Center. These services include primary medical care, specialty consultations, and coordination during acute illness/hospitalization. The Medical Director at Stockley Center will provide professional medical management services directly, collaborate with other specialists, and coordinate continuous, integrated medical services. This is a full-time position with on call responsibilities, hours of operation are 8:00am - 4:00pm.

Job Duties:
  • Provide comprehensive medical care and treatment to residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Conduct medical chart reviews and re-evaluations, including updating medical orders for medications, treatments, diets, and laboratory evaluations within state and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain current, accurate, and timely medical services documentation following ICF/ID regulations.
  • Interact and communicate with outside physicians, consultants, and hospital personnel to ensure continuity of care, communication of medical treatment plans, and progression of condition when residents are hospitalized or seen on a consultative basis.
  • Communicate information to facility staff, residents, their families, and/or guardians.
  • Provide the facility with a National Provider Identifier.
  • Be a Medicaid participating provider.
  • Be eligible and capable of submitting direct claims to Medicaid, Medicare, and other private insurance companies.
  • Complete the facility's established billing form to ensure proper billing for medical services provided to Medicaid and Medicare Part B residents.
  • Be on-site to support the needs of the residents. Scheduled work hours will be mutually agreed upon.
  • Provide the facility with a schedule of medical coverage, including regular business hours and on-call services, seven days prior to the first day of the month.
  • Ensure medical on-call services during non-regular business hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ensure medical coverage if the Advanced Practice Nurse scheduled is unable to do so.
  • Provide specialized in-service training and continuing education for direct support professionals and other team members as it relates to their role in supporting the resident's plan of care.
  • Participate and serve as needed on various committees and work groups as assigned by the Director of Nursing and/or Executive Director.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Residency trained in the United States.
  • Board certified or eligible for board certification in a primary care medical discipline.
  • Experience with adult general medicine or geriatrics.
  • Possess a license to practice medicine in the State of Delaware for the term of the contract.
  • Meet federal and state eligibility requirements to participate in Medicare and Medicaid.
  • ID/DD experience, knowledge, or education preferred but not required.
