InGenesis is currently seeking a Customer Service Representative to work with our client. In this role, you will work and communicate with the general public, internal business customers, and respond to incoming calls from victims/families of crimes, victims in crises, or other stakeholders inquiring about payment or Crime Victims Compensation programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively with the general public, internal business customers, and stakeholders.
- Respond professionally and empathetically to victims and/or family members seeking assistance.
- Handle sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA rules and maintain confidentiality.
- Analyze problems, questions, and issues, and develop recommendations for resolution.
- Conduct research to compile information needed for reports, projects, and responses to inquiries.
- Provide assistance with program or client issues and represent the organization in various matters.
- Use computers and related software applications proficiently.
- Interact with all stakeholders to effectively exchange or convey information and receive work direction.
- Receive additional training as required to gain proficiency and greater experience.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED.
- One (1) year of experience in a customer service setting.
- Proficiency in reading and writing.
- Ability to respond professionally and effectively in challenging, high-stakes, and sensitive situations.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance rules.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional call center work experience with social service programs, victims' compensation, crisis intervention, crisis hotline, insurance companies, or entities governed by state/federal guidelines.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job.
