Responsibilities and Duties
- Initiate, perform, and complete assigned duties in providing care.
- Complete assigned patient care based on the patient's conditions.
- Performs appropriate portions of physical examinations including age-appropriate physical measurements.
- Observe, identify, and respond to the patient's needs for care.
- Prepare and administer prescribed medications and perform treatments.
- Recognize urgent or emergent patient care situations.
- Perform support duties for complex diagnostic tests and/or specialized practices or procedures.
- Performs other administrative functions directed by mission needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited community college, junior college, university, or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed:
- The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or
- The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a practical or vocational nurse
- Current BLS and ACLS.
- Two (2) years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Knowledge of computer operations and proficiency in the use of basic word processing, data entry, and automated medical records.
