Creative Media Specialist

The Creative Media Specialist will be responsible for developing photography, graphics, illustration, audio, and video as needed. In doing so, they will be coordinating with the Marketing team as well as reaching out to management and third-parties to accomplish their tasks. Assist with promotions and product launches, responding to internal and external requests for materials, and conducting reports and analysis.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Provide support for the department and the company with design, layout, printing, video, web design, audio mixing, and mailing of marketing materials.
  • Provide support for the corporate brand identity with consistent use of logo, design, and messaging.
  • Design, develop, and deliver required media which may include graphics, photography, video, and/or sound.
  • Utilize computer software to generate new images/designs and prepare final files for printing.
  • Confer with printers and other outside vendors on artwork requirements, deadlines, and file formats.
  • Prepare design concepts of material, discuss them with supervisors or requestors, and make necessary changes.
  • Provide support for online strategies which include (but are not limited to) web, e-mail, and social media.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing Director and the Marketing Team to strategize and implement designs, communications, marketing plans and strategies.
  • Videography - seek out topics, and storyboard, work with locations and brand managers, and shoot and edit video.
  • Develop and design content for social media; current formats include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
  • Assist with marketing department projects as needed.
  • Communicate with internal customers to establish their expectations and needs.
  • Advise clients on what is technically possible and produce a proposal including, the range and scope of the work and realistic timescales and costs.
  • Collaborating with other specialists, writers, animators, artists, sound engineers, and programmers.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Not responsible for supervising employees.
Requirements

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in communications, marketing, graphic design, multimedia production or other relevant
    field.
  • 3+ years of work-related experience in design or multimedia.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in communications/public relations, marketing, graphic design, social media, videography
    and/or other related disciplines preferred.

  • Advanced Computer Skills -- Routine use of electronic mail and computer systems. Ability to incorporate
    complex and complicated functions into documents, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations to
    support business objectives.
  • Moderate Communication Skills -- Regularly uses moderately complex oral and written skills. May train
    others in functional areas, interact with others and make presentations to department or middle
    management. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including editing and proofreading
  • Department Specific Impact -- Decisions impact the management and operations within a department.
    May contribute to business and operational decisions that affect the department.
  • Varied Business Problems -- Problems are varied and complex, requiring analysis or interpretation of the
    situation. Problems are solved using knowledge and skills, general precedents, and practices.

    department.
  • Ability to implement coordinated strategies to enhance communications with all stakeholders using a
    variety of media.
  • Ability to take a kernel of information and expand upon it to round out a story, create a project plan, etc.
  • Independent self-starter with ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and meet
    deadlines.
  • Ability to see both the big picture and be attentive to detail, learn new things quickly, be creative in both
    problem-solving and idea-generation, and discern the essential from the non-essential.

Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment:
  • Must have the ability to work under conditions of frequent interruptions and be attentive to details.
  • Must be able to work comfortably under pressure.
  • Work is primarily sedentary: must be able to sit for extended periods of time and use a computer,
    keyboard, and mouse, frequently.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements).
    Minimum overnight travel (up to 10%).
