The Team:

The Data Science team designs and builds algorithmically driven features in the Datadog app. We work across a range of applications, primarily focusing on the analysis of streaming data such as anomaly detection, error outliers, and faulty deployment analysis.

The Opportunity:

As a Data Scientist on the Data Science team, you will work on improving the quality of the algorithms that power our growing suite of Watchdog products. You will work closely with our engineering and product partners to develop new algorithmically driven products.

What You'll Do:
  • Research and benchmark the latest algorithms that can be used for our use cases
  • Apply machine learning algorithms and statistical techniques to build new product features that work at high scale
  • Deploy new features to production
  • Present the latest academic research papers to your team
  • Explore and find meaning in extremely high volumes of data
  • Own your models, services, and infrastructure from end to end

Who You Are:
  • You are targeting a 2025 full-time start date
  • You are in the process of receiving/have a degree in data science or related scientific field, or have equivalent experience
  • You can explain complex ideas and algorithms in understandable ways
  • You care about code simplicity and performance
  • You have experience and interest working with data and building models
  • You are excited to work on a user-facing product
  • You are available to start work from our office on one of the following dates:
    • February 24, 2025
    • July 7, 2025
    • August 25, 2025

Bonus Points (any of the following):
  • You have experience applying machine learning to real business problems
  • You've written production data pipelines
  • You have experience working with high-scale systems and data

Datadog offers a competitive salary and equity package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. The reasonably estimated yearly salary for this role at Datadog is:
$123,000-$155,000 USD
