In this context, Spellman High Voltage Electronics Corp. is seeking a highly talented, motivated, creative, and experienced individual in program engineering management. For this critical role, our expectations are to focus on the planning and execution support of several Engineering product development activities to ensure their effective, methodical, and successful execution. Further, in this role, people management / soft skills, coaching and mentoring, are all key requirements to be successful in this role.
About the Role
You will be immersed in the Engineering product design and development environment and will shepherd projects from concept through to prototype validation and then production ramp collaboratively with other members of the greater multi-functional team such as the New Product Introduction (NPI) Program Manager.
What You Will Do:
- Support the planning and the delivery of the overall Engineering Product Development projects and associated activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of the organization by establishing and maintaining the program charter(s) and program plans via collaboration with the Engineering technical leads, Subject Matter Experts, Engineering Management and Sales.
- Support the establishment of, and management of project baseline plans, scheduling, critical path, and technology risks areas for execution.
- Cross-functionally communicate key development updates, risks and timeline on projects as well as presenting to the Executive team as required.
- Ensure that program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organization and drive improvements / creation of such policies and procedures as required
- Support the generation and delivery of projects' status reports in accordance with the programs' charter(s) and departmental reporting process
- Ensure that the projects operate within the approved budget and overall objectives.
- Monitor all budgeted projects expenditures, manage programs' budgets in accordance with company rules.
- Ensure that all financial records for the programs are up to date and available
- Identify and evaluate the risks and opportunities associated with project activities and coordinate appropriate action(s) to control the risks and opportunities in collaboration with the Engineering Leadership team.
- Ensure the execution of program review meetings, gate reviews and regular reviews with the stakeholders, including across sites when applicable.
What You Need
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering, Master's Degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience and/or applicable training in Project Management
- Must have a technical background.
- Must have training and understanding in generation/tracking of project schedule, engineering resource allocation, and task assignments, budgets, requirements management, and customer interface.
- Previous hands-on experience designing hardware and/or software a plus
- Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills, as well as excellent communication skills from working level teams to executives, both verbal and written
- Good understanding of project financials, business cases and contracts
- Strong people skills and ability to build report, along with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Build relationships by establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the organization
- Well organized with excellent written and verbal communication skill
- Has basic understanding of customer specifications reviews, working with suppliers, and manufacturing to deliver finished product according.
Our good faith estimate of the wage range for this role is $112,000 - $145,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and other factors. In addition to base pay, we offer a full benefits package.
