Program Analyst - Weapons

Ausley Associates is pleased to recruit for the newest member of our premier team; Program Analyst - Weapons. This position will be responsible for requirements definition, acquisition planning and project execution for end-to-end development and fielding of Air-to-Air weapons in support of US Navy and Marine Corps Counter Air / Counter Air Defense (CA/CAD) missions. In addition to dedicated support regarding A/A weapons development, this position is responsible for the integration of A/A weapons on multiple platforms.

Essential Job Functions of this Position:
  • Conduct analysis associated with warfighter needs and A/A weapons development.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all aspects of the acquisition planning and procurement cycle executed by the A/A Missile Program Manager Air (PMA-259).
  • Requirements and roadmap development for follow-on weapons capabilities.
  • Liaison with contractor, engineering and test communities (NAVAIR 4.1, 4.0P, 4.7, VX-23, VX-9, COTF & AFOTEC, DOT&E, multiple Navy and Air Force program offices, manufacturing contractors and fleet/combat air forces).
  • Liaison with capability gap and Science & Technology analysis forums.
  • Assist the Program Office with development of future capabilities for all Department of Defense (DoD) A/A weapons.
  • Manage multi-service planning, development and integration of A/A weapons.
  • Identification of capability gaps and conducting technical analysis to ensure gaps are negated during weapon development programs.
  • Assist with future A/A concept of employment (CONEMPS) development & employment tactics and/or assessments forums.

Specific tasks to be accomplished:
  • Provide the Program Office with CA/CAD SME technical advice / insight to the A/A weapons development and fielding efforts. Manage requirement trade space efforts supporting planning, roadmap development and integration in support of the Program Manager (PM) as a TACAIR weapons SME regarding future capabilities. When necessary, liaise with the engineering, warfighter and test communities to collate inputs and action items / requests for information to optimize the development, fielding, sustainment and employment of A/A weapons. Provide technical analysis of PM and Requirements Officer acquisition flight plans, future naval capabilities, test communities and warfighter inputs to the PM supporting the A/A weapons development process.
  • Attend A/A capability gap and/or platform / weapons requirements forums and test planning efforts to include NARC, NARG, IWC, ALWT, USAF EWSR, F/A-18 HTAT, JSF OAG, JADO / MADO WGs, TPWGs and others as required to provide a cohesive and traceable list of operational deficiencies and desired capabilities, both in current and future A/A weapons roadmaps.
  • Liaise with OPNAV N98/N89 HQMC APW and Joint Entities as necessary to ascertain current and future requirements and A/A weapons roadmaps for both Naval and Joint Forces. Collate all requisite JCIDS and Acquisition documents to include AoAs, CDDs and CPDs for a traceable and centralized list of requirements to the PM.
  • Coordinate with DT (contractor and military test organizations (VX-31, AFMC Flight Test Squadrons, etc.) and OT (OPTEVFOR, AFOTEC, VX-9, 53d WG, etc.) communities regarding system development, test planning, execution, evaluation and reporting on the process of A/A weapons development and integration.


Qualifications - Education and Relevant Years of Experience

Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, physics, mathematics, statistics, computer science or engineering (electrical, electronics or computer) from an accredited institution and ten (10) years of combined experience in acquisition/engineering/testing and/or technical program management is required. Master's degree and eight (8) years of related experience may substitute in lieu of the experience listed above.

Must have an active Top Secret clearance OR a Secret clearance with Top Secret eligibility.
