Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our IT team as a Vulnerability and Patch Management Technician who will be responsible for prioritizing and carrying-out/coordinating vulnerability reduction actions via system and application updates and configurations, while developing the latest skills necessary to manage vulnerabilities and system currency programmatically as a Service Owner. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity and security of Topcon's IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be adept at applying appropriate tools and methods for ensuring that IT systems and software (OS, applications) are maintained up-to-date with the latest patches and updates, identifying and applying best practices for proper system configurations, managing vulnerabilities detected through vulnerability management tools, and utilizing monitoring and reporting tools to provide status on our systems' security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize tools to monitor system OS and application software versions and the security vulnerability posture of IT systems.
- Apply appropriate software and system patches and system configurations to ensure IT systems are kept up-to-date.
- Coordinate with IT teams to prioritize, schedule and implement updates without disrupting business operations.
- Document patching schedules, compliance reports, and vulnerability assessments.
- Provide ongoing insight to management on the progress of maintaining system and application currency and reduction of system vulnerabilities.
- Provide support and guidance on best practices for system security and maintenance.
- Act as a service owner across IT for system updates and vulnerability management lifecycle.
- Stay informed about the latest security threats and trends in vulnerability management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with vulnerability management, patch management and IT security best practices.
- Experience with vulnerability scanning software and tools such as Tenable and BitSight or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience with updating or patching common operating systems, like Linux and Windows
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The base pay range $76,000-$90,000k is a projected hiring range for a position, level and potential work location(s) listed. Topcon provides the compensation range that it in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. This compensation range is based on a full-time schedule.
