About the Role
As a Quality Engineer, this role centers on enhancing manufacturing processes and product quality by identifying and addressing yield and process inefficiencies using the CAPA 8D methodology. The position demands effective communication and collaboration with quality leadership, Engineering, Operations, and Sales to ensure issues are promptly escalated and resolved. The Quality Engineer is responsible for developing a Quality Management reporting system, analyzing data to drive improvements, and supporting product development with quality assurance practices. This role also involves leading CAPA activities, managing regulatory compliance, and contributing to new product introductions with a focus on achieving Key Performance Indicators through the application of quality tools and methodologies. Candidates should have a strong background in Quality Engineering, with experience in multinational environments, Quality Management Systems, and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and quality standards.
What You Will Do:
- Utilize CAPA 8D for factory yield and process improvement, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Communicate and escalate issues efficiently to quality leadership and relevant teams, providing regular updates.
- Proactively collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Sales to ensure responsive support.
- Develop and manage a Quality Management reporting system for tracking and improving quality metrics.
- Analyze quality data to identify and address issues through effective corrective actions.
- Support Product Development in quality assurance for design and verification/validation to enhance quality.
- Lead CAPA activities using quality tools to prevent issue recurrence and mitigate risks across the organization.
- Handle Quality and Regulatory issues by updating necessary documents and instructions.
- Define and track Quality objectives, contributing to achieving KPIs.
- Participate in New Product Introduction, implementing quality elements like FMEA and PPAP.
- Review and approve Engineering Changes, assessing customer impact.
- Oversee customer feedback, returns, and complaints, implementing CAPAs for resolution.
- Prepare for and present at Supplier and Customer reviews, addressing quality data and actions.
- Implement "Best Practices" and promote a process-based organization.
What You Need:
- Minimum 3 years in Quality Engineering.
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or related.
- Multinational company experience with effective communication skills across cultures.
- Experience with Quality Management Systems, ISO 9000 & 14001 regulations.
- Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills.
- Experience in electronic assembly, SPC, DOE, and familiar with various manufacturing processes.
- Lean/Six Sigma knowledge; proficient in Microsoft Office, Minitab, and relevant tools.
This is a part-time role for three days a week. Our good faith estimate of the salary range for a full-time role is $106,000 to $120,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and other factors. In addition to base pay, we offer a highly competitive benefits package.
This position requires on-site presence at Spellman High Voltage Valhalla, NY.
