Overview
Provides support to the Operating Risk business unit. Utilizes established processes and procedures to initiate the research and resolution of incoming penalty notices.
Responsibilities
Resolves lower level penalty notices and follows up with tax agencies to ensure their resolution.Contacts agencies via phone to obtain a decision on prior abatements.Leads newer team members and ensures they receive appropriate training and mentorship.Develops problem resolution techniques and makes recommendations to management and staff to implement them throughout the group.Contacts tax agencies via phone to place clients on agency hold, to eliminate future agency notices being inappropriately sent to the clients.Develops and maintains relationships with agency contacts to assist with the agency hold and other processes.Researches additional notices for all previous issues and attempts to resolve them.Assists in researching and resolving proof issues to prove that tax payments and returns were filed timely.Maintains accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all research-related processes.Processes collection and payment requests to taxing authorities to ensure accurate and timely completion.Processes and distributes correspondence from field locations to ensure appropriate parties get all communications.Performs data entry and distribution process for incoming Advantage penalty notices to ensure timely and accurate processing.Develops and maintains knowledge of all changes pertaining to various product offerings, regulatory changes, policy changes and industry developments.
Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma - Required
- 3 years of experience in Customer service, finance, accounting, or payroll.
- Demonstrates customer service skills.
Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $18.36-$28.86 hourly. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
