POSITION OVERVIEW

The Marketing Events Specialist is responsible for complete coordination of tradeshows, conferences, user group meetings, advisory boards, education events and other meetings for the global Healthcare IT division of Canon Medical at a regional level (U.S.) while acting as a support for other global/international regions. The responsibilities of the position will also include the planning, coordination, operation, and successful completion of multiple trade shows and events, as well as leading marketing and communications activities to successfully promote or communicate each event. This role will include knowledge and use of Salesforce and leads management tools.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Events Management
  • Manage annual event calendar including trade shows, industry partners' local sponsored events or other customer retention events.
  • Coordinate and execute all event logistics (planning meetings, budget, event requirements, schedules, stakeholders, equipment, etc.) .
  • Responsible for managing vendors including: exhibit houses, booth properties, show coordinators,

utilities, show decorators, lead generation, shipping companies, service providers, hotels, etc.
  • Collaborate and lead a cross-functional team to develop a strategic plan/brief for each tradeshow,

conference, event or other meetings.
  • Develop and launch tradeshow and event-related marketing campaigns to drive attendance and customer relations.
    • Manage event expenses compared to budget related to completing trade show events and marketing
    • Manage lead generation services including input and disbursement post-show.
    • Develop communications to sales, management and attendees for organizational awareness
    • Drive metrics, track and communicate event results to internal audiences.
    • Work with counterpart(s) at Canon Companies to support required events to ensure global event success and corporate consistency.
  • Serve as liaison with exhibitor associations, societies and memberships.
    • Ensure adherence to rules and regulations of association guidelines, HCP (Healthcare Provider) global regulations, guidelines and corporate policy (Sunshine Act and AdvaMed).

EDUCATION AND SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, PR, Communications or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of trade show and event experience managing industry conventions
  • Self-starter with ability to drive and develop strategy
  • Marketing campaign experience preferred
  • Solid vendor management and negotiations skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at once with competing deadlines
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% in support of events, including occasional weekends. Hours can vary and expand as dictated by project demands
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred
