The purpose of the QA/QC Field Auditor is to define quality standards and assist with installation planning to ensure projects are delivered with the highest degree of quality. Assume responsibility for un-bias on-site evaluation of work being performed and ensure installs exceed customer expectations. Basis for evaluations that comply with design, specifications, applicable codes, industry standards, "best practices", Warrantees and VTI policies. Maintain VTI's commitment to 100% Customer Satisfaction, eliminating customer complaints and cost overruns due to" rework" through early detection of installation quality issues. Identify training requirements of field installation force.
Responsibilities
QA/QC Field Auditor is involved at multiple stages of a project, depending on size, scope, complexity, client/end user requirements, and VTI management direction. Field Auditor will coordinate site visits during critical phases of a project, assist with planning, inspect installation quality and ensure company policies are being followed. Site visits will be coordinated in advance where required or be "On the Spot" and unexpected.
Field auditor establishes project quality plans (internal and customer specific), reviews with project team and performs field inspections on customer premise to ensure compliance. Auditor documents and rates the severity of observations maintaining a single project report/punch-list. Report findings to PM and Foremen and escalate major issues to Business Unit Managers as needed. Auditors also perform follow-up inspections to ensure corrective actions have been made.
The Auditor works with internal team and client/end users to understand what the "Acceptance" criteria are, perform "client/contractor" inspections (often with a representative of a product manufacture), validate and investigate customer complaints, be able to resolve issues and provide guidance to field installation force.
Field Auditors work with BU Operations (installers and managers) on developing Company Quality Standards, evaluation of products and tools used; ensure that the correct tools and materials are being used in the field. Identify training need of field personnel.
