We are looking for an experienced Collections Representative to join our team!

General Summary:

The Collections Representative is responsible for contacting residential and small business customers to collect payment for past due accounts. The primary goal of the position is to reduce the number of accounts in past due status and to reduce the amount of ageing accounts receivable (AR). By utilizing a consultative, Customer Care-style approach, customers with financial hardships will be treated with respect, in turn enhancing their trust and loyalty to Ritter Communications. This results in lower customer attrition and protection of monthly recurring revenue. This position is also responsible for completion of tickets in the Review Queue, social media responses, and post-install closed-loop callbacks.

This individual must be organized, self-directed, resourceful, communicative with Management, efficient, detail-oriented, and have the ability to work with various departments within a fast-paced performance-driven environment.

Essential Job Functions
  • Placing initial and follow-up outbound calls to existing customers and utilizes email to collect on past due accounts;
  • Assisting customers in the processing of payments, reviewing accounts for payment arrangements, finding creative acceptable solutions for payment of past due balances, assisting the customer with reconnection of services;
  • Use active listening skills with the ability to multitask while assisting customers in resolving their concerns;
  • Use collection techniques to effectively educate and rehabilitate past due accounts;
  • Various administrative tasks including but not limited to ticket Review Queue, social media responses, and follow-ups to customers with recent installs;
  • Maintain focus on achieving established goals;
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of telecommunications products and services;
  • Knowledge of sales and collections principles and practices;
  • Skill in operating various software programs including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook applications;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of sales personnel, cross departmental teams, and senior level management teams;
  • Ability to communicate with customers, employees, and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner;
  • Self-motivated and possesses the ability to work within a strong team dynamic;
  • Strong negotiation skills and influencing skills;
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments;
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail;
  • Ability to make sound decisions using information at hand.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED is required;

Two to three years of experience in Customer Care, Sales, or Collections is required with experience in the telecommunications industry preferred;
