Topcon Positioning Systems (TPS) is a global leader in the development and manufacturing of precision positioning equipment. The company offers a large selection of innovative precision GNSS and optical positioning solutions for surveying, civil engineering, agriculture, machine guidance and automation. We are growing and require a dedicated Director of Product Manager to focus on Mass Data Solutions. This position is a great opportunity for someone who has had considerable, real-world experience with research, design and implementation of Mass Data capture and analysis solutions that use state-of-the-art scanning and imaging technologies for civil, mining, vertical and other related application domains. It is expected that candidates will have 5 years + experience managing a team of product managers and engagement with internal and external stakeholders at a senior level.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform in-depth market analysis and evaluate business opportunities.
- Engage in regular visits with (globally dispersed) customers and distributors (both physically and virtually) to solicit ideas and feedback on products.
- Explore new product solution opportunities with sales representatives from the Positioning Solutions Business Unit (PSBU).
- Create and maintain product concept and market requirement documents.
- Manage a team of (globally dispersed) product managers and validation specialists.
- Work closely with the (globally dispersed) engineering organization to ensure close collaboration between engineering and product management.
Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years management-level experience related to the development of Mass Data capture and analysis tools.
- 10+ years' experience in the civil, survey, vertical construction (or related) industry.
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) with engineering or science major.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in people management & team leadership.
