ABOUT THE JOB:
The Manager Fleet Operations is responsible for managing all operational aspects of fleet to ensure the best use of the equipment as well as maximizing the returns of all company capital investment. The role requires a strong understanding of operations sales and marketing strategy while being able to balance supply and demand to capitalize on growth opportunities.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Leading the implementation of the company's strategic fleet vision by developing policies and procedures to support field operations
- Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of modular storage and other product classes across North America
- Maximize return of assets focusing on ROI utilization and total cost of ownership
- Serves as a liaison between sales and operations proactively managing the alignment between fleet mix asset location and sales plans
- Manages fleet mix composition (age & category) within fleet operations to maximize returns in all markets and capitalize on growth opportunities
- Leads the fleet operations equipment disposal process ensuring maximum price and retail channel growth
- Consults on asset capital expenditures within plan and company performance targets"
- Responsible for ensuring that all rental assets are in position to satisfy supply vs demand challenges while driving the highest returns on our fleet
- Create and distribute fleet data reporting as required
- Responsible for consistent review of idle fleet for opportunities to increase ROI
- Accountable for quarterly asset management fleet performance review
- Provide regular updates to Senior Management regarding ongoing projects and action plans
- Other duties as assigned
Equipment Used and Responsibility:
- ERP Reporting Tools Analytics support tools
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Education and Experience:
- Technical Bachelor's Degree or commensurate experience; and minimum 5 years' experience in the mobile modular or construction industry in general building remodeling and supervision
- 5+years of experience leading operations teams in manufacturing environments. This includes developing and managing budgets creating and executing short- and long-term business strategies and tactics
- Experience working in a high-profile role that has frequent contact between various departments executive leaders and fi eld management.
- Experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience in working in culturally diverse operational/functional matrix organizations.
- Proven experience in a leasing business (e.g. construction materials auto- leasing) or in Logistics transportation or other construction-related industry.
Requires Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments.
- Ability to thrive in a highly dynamic entrepreneurial time-sensitive collaborative environment.
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; looks for ways to improve and promote quality; actively solicits feedback to improve performance.
- Strong customer presentation and communications skills and experience.
- Advanced financial understanding and analytical capability
- Strategic thinker with the ability to drive results
- Leadership management experience preferred.
- Ability to create ad hoc performance analysis and identify corrective actions to address negative trends
- Travel required between 25-50% 1-2 weeks/month depending on project
