The Position

An Expeditor is responsible to coordinate the movement of materials both through various departments within the organization and facilitate the shipment of materials from vendors. They are responsible for making decisions on when to use refurbished unit's vs buying new units and understanding Service Level Agreements.

The Expeditor will need to work closely with the Service Department, specifically shed owners, to ensure that replenishment request is loaded properly. The Expeditor is the face of the Supply Chain to the rest of the organization, and must possess strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and be organized to ensure information is disseminated to other departments accurately and timely from vendors and freight providers.

Essential Functions

Key areas of responsibility include:
  • Creating load transfers for movement of inventory from DCs, RCs and Sheds to other DCs, RCs and Sheds
  • Monitor inventory levels of Refurbished units and facilitate the movement of refurbished units to their destination
  • Track refurbished units to assess is they are being used in a timely fashion
  • If refurbished units are not available, place POs to procure units, follow up with Vendor to get tracking info, put tracking info on WOs
  • Monitor LT queue and update ship dates to reflect actual ship dates
  • Monitor inventory levels and move LTs to the proper DCs to ensure timely deliveries
  • Monitors shipments to sheds and intervenes when necessary, track missed pickups/delivers and reschedules with carriers as needed and act as intermediary between freight providers and shed owners
  • Connection between other departments and supply chain, working collaboratively with counterparts in other departments to ensure timely processing of work orders to meet/exceed SLAs

Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in written correspondence
  • Must have a "customer-centric" attitude with an eagerness to provide world-class customer service (including internal customers)
  • Must be resourceful, thorough, and decisive in a fast-paced environment
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented capable of multitasking
  • Ability to work in a team and across different departments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Experience with salesforce.com is a plus
  • Preferred experience in Customer Care, Scheduling or Supply Chain
