No prior IT experience is required (only a desire to learn) as we will get you trained up in various network and systems administration duties - mostly revolving around HPC (high performance computing) administration. This person will be onsite at a datacenter in Phoenix and will be responsible for cabling, racking, moving and lifting IT equipment at a very basic level. Beyond this you would gain hands on experience with Linux administration, server/storage support, etc.
A few of the potential job responsibilities are listed below however this person would get trained, so prior experience isn't necessarily required, only a desire to learn.
Must be a current US citizen who lives in the greater Phoenix area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within IT infrastructure including HPC systems, storage, and networking.
- Understand Data Center IT Operations environment and has the knowledge to use software tools to perform day-to-day functions and troubleshooting
- Perform high volume/low impact tasks in an efficient and knowledgeable manner.
- Provide break/fix support including component replacement, hardware troubleshooting, and operating system installation.
- Proficiently perform data center support tasks with little guidance.
- Demonstrate hands-on practical knowledge of systems and policies.
- Operational management tasks including, working to resolve escalations, and clearing blocking issues to enable continuous delivery of datacenter support activities
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Must have a basic understanding of Storage theory, Server layout, and Network concepts.
- Must have mechanical aptitude and ability to follow procedures to make component-level repairs using ESD best practices.
- Requires a good understanding of the general/technical aspects of the job.
- Must be familiar with using different computer applications and be able to navigate software tools as required by the task at hand.
- Must possess professional written and verbal communication skills
- Must be organized and able to document daily activities
- Must maintain successful communication and working relationship with management & peers of all levels.
- Teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Willing to travel locally, state-wide, or regionally as required
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
