Global Product Manager - Perimetry
Job Summary
Reporting to the Senior Director of Global Product Management, the product manager for perimetry will oversee Topcon's perimeter models for the US and Global markets and lead development of current and future perimetry products and interface with key opinion leaders, engineers, clinical affairs, medical affairs, clinical development, legal/regulatory experts, marketing, and other teams within Topcon.
The Product Manager is responsible for the assigned product group for achieving company goals regarding product development and product launch, ensuring that revenue and profit goals are met, and driving additional market share.
Summary of Responsibilities include:
Create and implement the long-term global product strategy to achieve business goals
- Create strategic product roadmaps and assess new product and feature ideas
- Forecast revenue and profitability for assigned products to define business plan and create product pricing strategies.
Manage the complete product life cycle for assigned products and create a comprehensive business and development plan encompassing design, market and pricing strategy, positioning, etc.
- Represent the customer on a cross-functional project team and provide marketing deliverables as input to the product development process
- Work closely with clinical scientists to support and define clinical needs of assigned products
- Adhere to QMS processes and keep high-quality progress records of projects and development plans.
Coordinate with Medical Affairs and outside consultants and key opinion leaders to gather information and insights that will lead to product and service improvements as well as increased market presence and share.
Research our competition and other technologies in the market and develop responsive action plans if needed.
Support new product launches and feature introductions in collaboration with the Downstream Marketing and Education and Training departments.
Remain up to date with relevant clinical and reimbursement trends and medical standards.
A strong candidate will exhibit the following qualities and experiences:
- 3+ years experience in Product Management, Project Management, Engineering or Marketing of medical deviceswithin ophthalmology
- Clinical experience in the field of perimetry strongly preferred
- Strong proficiency in communication, presentation, and leadership in meetings. Must communicate with all levels of the business from sales to top management
- Experience with glaucoma diagnostic products and services is a plus
- Can travel internationally and maintain global projects requiring occasional conference calls outside of normal business hours. Extended travel may be around 20%.
