Job Background:
The Systems Engineering Department (AIR-4.1) requires systems specialty engineering and technical efforts to be performed in the following specialty engineering functional areas: Air/Ship Integration, Systems Safety, Mass
Properties, Survivability, Manufacturing & Quality, Air Platform Stores Integration, Metrology and Systems
Security Engineering. These efforts are focused across a broad business base comprised of Integrated Program
Teams (IPT's), Externally Directed Teams (EDT's) and Enterprise Teams (ET's), which support all Naval Air
Programs.
The mission of AIR-4.1 is to apply systems engineering knowledge and skills to provide support to Program
Executive Offices (PEOs) and Program Manager, Air (PMAs) by providing assessments of Aircraft, Weapon and
Integrated Systems' technical performance, mission suitability and associated acquisition risks throughout the full
acquisition process and life cycle of a program.
Essential Job Functions of this Position:
The Senior Operations Research Analyst will apply scientific, mathematic and statistical methodologies to the study and analysis of technological problems in relation to engineering and scientific development of processes, systems and equipment. He/She will use mathematical and computerized modeling and other analytical techniques, to design procedures for and execute experiments, test and evaluations on weapons systems or equipment.
Qualifications - Education and Relevant Years of Experience
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Operations Research, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or Engineering and ten (10) to fourteen (14) years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering position is required. Three (3) of those years related to naval systems is highly desired. Master's degree is desired.
An active Secret security clearance is required.
