Senior Collections Analyst

We are looking for a Sr. Collections Analyst who is driven and passionate about reducing delinquency and providing outstanding service to our customers. The successful candidate will treat all our customers and team members ethically and respectfully, creating relationships built on trust. This position will offer a base salary depending on experience and is bonus eligible contingent upon collections performance.

Essential Functions:
  • Manage a specific portfolio to materially reduce overdue accounts (+60, +90, etc.) over time on both a dollar and percentage basis in alignment with quarterly objectives
  • Assist Collections Manager with escalations from the Collections Analysts as determined to be appropriate.
  • Makes recommendations based on opportunities for process improvements through collections best practices, benchmarking and trends.
  • Manage a combination of daily responsibilities and special projects to support current business activities and needs.
  • Ability to meet and exceed established team and individual collections goals and KPIs.
  • Document daily collections activity including, but not limited to, emails sent as well as inbound and outbound phone calls.
  • Negotiate with customers to resolve outstanding balances securing mutually beneficial payment arrangements to maximize cash collections.
  • Escalate accounts for assistance with collections in accordance with the established escalation path.
  • Reconcile and resolve customer discrepancies caused by missing invoices, billing errors, unapplied and misapplied cash providing customers with copies of invoices and statements upon request.
  • Place accounts with third-party collections agency when internal collections efforts have been exhausted.
  • Submit requests for credits to customer accounts where an invoice discrepancy or another qualifying circumstance exists.
  • Evaluate customer accounts prior to releasing credit holds which prevent service.
  • Interact with Finance, Account Management and other departments to provide specific and timely information as requested.
  • Understanding of and compliance with all applicable Federal, State and Local laws and regulations that regulate the collections industry.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of collections experience in a business-to-business environment, with proven ability to reduce overdue accounts on both a dollar and percentage basis for an assigned portfolio.
  • Extensive understanding of the collections/finance function is required, with demonstrated ability to apply knowledge and skills.
  • Aptitude to identify collections risk and take immediate corrective action.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Must be a results-oriented self-starter who understands the big picture and can thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to professionally communicate both with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to negotiate when necessary and handle difficult customer situations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with mid-level Excel skills.
  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus.

Education:
  • College degree required.
