Logistics Analyst (Avionics & Weapons)

Ausley Associates is pleased to recruit for the newest member of our premier team; Logistics Analyst (Avionics & Weapons). This position supports the Science and Technology Advanced Programs Division supporting NAVAIR and the Assistant Program Manager Logistics (APML) in Niceville, FL.

Essential Job Functions of this Position:

The Logistics Analyst (Avionics & Weapons) will support logistics and sustainment planning for a DoD ACAT 1D acquisition program. Candidate will support pre-milestone C development and sustainment planning efforts to include: Level of Repair Analysis (LORA) updates, stand-up weapon system depot capability, develop requirements for use of Versatile Diagnostic Automatic Test System (VDATS) Test Program Set (TPS) and Common Munitions Bit/Reprogramming Equipment Plus (CMBRE +). Candidate will be responsible to the APML in providing the team with weapons logistics technical assistance regarding VDATS and CMBRE+, assist in the development of TPS requirements, and support updates of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) documentation such as: Maintenance Plan (MP), Life Cycle Sustainment Plan (LCSP), Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) Plan, Item Unique Identification (IUID) Plan and Logistics Requirements Funding Summary (LRFS).

This work involves: (1) Collecting, analyzing, interpreting and developing requirements and plans for weapon system repair at various organizational levels and developing requirements for depot level repair and organizational level sustainment. (2) Providing such information, together with advisory service insight, to those who design, test, produce, procures, supply, operate, repair, or dispose of equipment. (3) Develop, or revise equipment maintenance programs and techniques based on a practical knowledge of the equipment, including its design, production, operational, and maintenance requirements.

The Logistics Analyst will support Program Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and IPT directed technical and business meetings. Will also provide Test Program Set/Automated Test Equipment contracting support to IPT lead and Procurement Contracting Officer (as required). Will perform contracting technical, and/or business analysis; assist in development and analysis of contract Statements of Work (SOW) and Contract Deliverables Requirements List (CDRLs) as related to TPS/ATE requirements. He/She will also support Procurement Initiation Documents (PID) process and development/tracking and monitoring of contract execution.

Estimated 25% travel is required to support customer requirements.

Qualifications - Education and Relevant Years of Experience
Bachelor's degree and ten (10) years of experience as an avionics/test equipment SME is required. High school diploma or GED and fourteen (14) years of experience may substitute in lieu of the degree requirement. Candidate requires a strong working knowledge of U.S. Naval Aviation automated repair equipment, sustainment analysis, avionics repair planning, and weapon system acquisition logistics support. Must be familiar with the TPS requirements planning, Level of Repair Analysis, VDATS and CMCRE+ capabilities and produce program logistics and TPS equipment analysis support and apply knowledge of DoD/DoN systems acquisition.

Additional Requirements:
  • Direct experience with ATE Test Program Set (TPS) acquisition, development and if associated with the Versatile Diagnostic Automatic Test System (VDATS) it is a plus
  • Familiarity with any DoD/DoN Automatic Test System (ATE) family of testers (ex. eCASS,, VDATS, NGATS etc.)
  • Familiarity with Common Munitions Bit/Reprogramming Equipment Plus (CMBRE+) Integration.
  • Understanding of Developmental and/or Operational Testing (VX-31, VX-9, OPTEVFOR, AFOTEC, etc.) in major ACAT I programs relating to aircraft/weapons system acquisition and development
  • Experience with Statements of Work, CDRLs and/or reviewing basis of estimates
  • Knowledge of maintenance planning and testing of modern avionics components
  • Knowledge of developmental and/or operational test of Naval aviation aircraft systems and/or subsystems and/or components; ability to perform data analysis
  • Defense Acquisition University/Equivalent LVL II or higher in Logistics and/or Engineering
  • Familiarity/understanding of cyber security requirements and Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.
  • Active TOP SECRET Clearance is desired.Secret clearance with Top Secret eligibility may be considered on a very limited basis for otherwise well qualified candidates.
