Overview

The Rack Fabrication Role will provide Vision Technologies with AV equipment racks that are properly built according to the rack elevations provided on the IFC drawing set, wired in accordance with AVIXA standards with separated signal types. The Rack fabricator will dress the cabling so that there is proper separation of signal types and wiring any power cables on the left side of the rack - separate from any signal caring cables. Cables should be prepped to the correct length, leaving space for strain relief. Labels should be placed on all cables at the same length from where they were terminated. Labels should include the device ID from where the signal starts including port number, what type of cable it is, and the device ID and port of the device that is receiving the signal. All rack equipment is to be labeled with device IDs determined by the Design Engineer.
Once the rack has been completed, the technician will transfer the rack(s) into the QA lab where the Quality Lead and Field Engineer will begin their portion of the delivery process. The technician will inform the lead fabricator the rack(s) are complete and the lead fabricator will modify the status of the project to "in progress - QA" in the System Integration Request Portal
