Primary responsibility is managing engineering, technical, and operations support associated with NASA's Goddard Television Operations Section. Administer all phases of video engineering support for NASA
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Providing engineering and management oversite of NASA's Goddard TV Operations Section with direct and indirect customer interface.
- Engineering role in support of high-profile live television NASA events including Presidents, Congress members, and NASA Administrators with success
- Integrate video systems using Autodesk AutoCAD, VidCAD, and MS Visio for development of floor plan layouts, rack elevations, cable runs, functional diagrams, and as-built final facility drawings
- Resolve incidents and work orders conveyed from NASCOM Mission Managers, Marshal Space Flight Center technicians, and local Goddard customers with minimum down-time and high efficiency
- Evaluate, test, and approve software configuration parameters for multicast streaming MPEG-2, 4, HEVC compressed video over Cisco and Juniper switched Lan/Wan networks
- Manage technical delivery of Office of Communication (OCOMM) live video productions using NASA HQ, LaRC, vMix, and LiveU, Encompass, digital C-band, and KU-band satellite transmissions
Knowledge of:
- Extensive knowledge of Commercial and Mission Broadcast TV Systems and Sub-systems.
- Extensive knowledge of a wide variety of antennas and antenna sub-systems including fixed, polar, azimuth/elevation, and X/Y mount, geosynchronous and tracking satellite antennas.
- Experience providing support of NASA's manned and unmanned spacecraft/rocket launches and mission operations.
- Extensive experience in electrical, electronic, fiber optic, and mechanical engineering operations including large antenna servo and servo control systems.
- IP Computer Networks
- Wide knowledge of Media Encoding and IPTV Streaming
- Experience coordinating, scheduling, operating satellite and fiber uplinks and peaking antenna
- Utah, Ross, Blackmagic Video Switcher and Router installation and configuration
- Haivision IPTV equipment installation, operation, and maintenance
- Network Security vulnerability audit assessment and remediation
- Cable termination using HDBNC, F connector, and CAT 6 RJ45 connectors

Education:
- College Degree - Electronic and broadcast fundamentals
