Summary
The IT Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for the provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of IT systems hardware/software and related tools and infrastructure, supporting engineering, software development and production environments. This role participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure and ensures that all hardware, operating systems, software, and related procedures adhere to organizational and operational policies and standards.
This individual contributor position provides day-to-day operational support of systems / services including Windows, Mac and Linux workstations, mobile smartphone devices, Windows and Linux servers (cloud and non-cloud, physical and virtual), networks, backups, tools (monitoring, CAD, collaboration, continuous integration and code repository tools), and system security. This individual will assume responsibility for infrastructure and tools administration, monitoring and backup, inclusive of production facilities.
Ability to work across global geographies are desired component of this role.
Responsibilities

- Participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure and ensures that all hardware, operating systems, software, and related procedures adhere to organizational and operational policies and standards.
- provides day-to-day operational support of systems / services including Windows, Mac and Linux workstations, mobile smartphone devices, Windows and Linux servers (cloud and non-cloud, physical and virtual), networks, backups, tools (monitoring, CAD, collaboration, continuous integration and code repository tools), and system security.
- Identify necessary projects and improvements without assistance and propose these to management for approval.
- Provide training and documentation on certain technologies as needed but is not given specific instructions for completing tasks and projects, he is expected to determine these on his own.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred, with appropriate hands on experience, in a technical area of study.
- Technical certifications or technology specific training are an advantage (AWS Foundation level minimum)
- 6-8 years of related experience supporting Windows and Linux workstations, including image management and system security and OSE patching.
- 6-8 years of related experience supporting Windows and Linux server environments, including: hardware configuration; design, configuration and management of Windows 2022/2016/2008 Server OS; design, configuration and management of Linux OS distributions (Red Hat, Centos, etc); AD domain infrastructure support including the ability to create and manage group policies.
- 6+ years using desktop and server provisioning tools such as SMS, SCCM, Barramundi, KACE, etc.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience working with VMware and Hyper-V based virtualized server environments
- 2+ years supporting Microsoft email/office services (on-prem or cloud)
- 4+ years hands on with cloud IaaS services (AWS or Azure)
