Coordinate with key internal and external stakeholders, such as company's engineering teams, manufacturing teams, supply chain teams, OEM customers and assigned suppliers to develop engineering processes to deliver quality output and ensure quality engineering and manufacturing requirements are met using knowledge of quality tools such as Lean manufacturing, DMAIC, SPC, DOE, GD&T, etc. Collaborate with the components team to assist in the development of new supply sources to improve cost competitiveness and to be the conduit between company and the suppliers. Guide and work with up front design development with PCB/PCBA, machine castings and heavy fab manufacturing, as well as with suppliers to create new manufacturing methods and control engineering strategies. Work with supplier design engineering team to define and validate, PCB and PCBA layer structures, appropriate scripting, design rule checks, etc. and taking proactive steps to minimize potential risks using SAP and ERP. Develop and improve the APQP (advanced product quality planning) process with suppliers from the initial design stage through PPAP submission and start of production interfaces with development teams and suppliers to provide materials and components for company product manufacturing using knowledge IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A- 620, ISO 9001 QMS and Business Systems, ANSI 14.5, GD&T, drawings/schematics, etc. Assist with oversight of supplier performance by conducting supplier audits and site inspections. Develop process improvement plans, including driving implementation and monitoring and maintaining performance metrics. Investigate supplier quality issues to determine root cause, identifying and implementing corrective actions and facilitating long-term preventative actions. Communicate product specifications to suppliers and assess supplier's ability to meet Engineering and Quality requirements. Develop and maintain relationships and work closely with sourcing leaders to implement and track supplier/engineering, design changes, capacity studies and new product introductions, and transfers. Support New Product Introduction from Engineering through to production. Develop and prioritize an auditing schedule to ensure that designated suppliers are audited on a regular basis. Perform root cause analysis, creating 8D reports and PPAP documents and supporting process improvement programs.
Requirements: Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, our Quality Engineering and three (3) years of experience in job offered or three (3) years of experience in quality control engineering, manufacturing engineering, and/or industrial engineering experience for precision machine components. In the alternative, will accept a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, our Quality Engineering followed by five (5) years of progressive experience in specialty field.
