JOB OVERVIEW
The Psychometrician serves as key resource for providing sound and cost-effective psychometric services to client and Prometric-owned testing programs by overseeing selection and/or development of appropriate psychometric solutions, guiding development and/or implementation of refined psychometric tools and processes, and increasing visibility of Prometric's test development services through effective communications within client and testing industry communities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop psychometric structure for various exams; perform data collection design, item analysis, IRT calibration, equating, linking and scaling, scoring, standard setting, generating technical reports, and quality control.
- Perform customized psychometric analysis including differential item functioning, item and model fit, dimensionality check and forensic data analysis.
- Use SAS to:
- Retrieve, clean, manage and parse data from the database
- Run routine and non-routine analyses for scoring and statistical reporting
- Generate reports, tables and figures
- Perform quality assurance analysis
- Document all engaged psychometric and test development processes and create memoranda and technical reports.
- Provide guidance and technical advice to test development staff, proposal writing staff, and account managers with appropriate and feasible solutions.
- Offer consulting services to customers when requested.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
- Master's Degree in Psychometrics required; Ph.D. in Psychometrics, Educational and/or Psychological Measurement preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- One to three years of increasingly responsible professional experience in educational measurement, applied statistics, or teaching are required.
- Experience providing psychometric services to client certification and/or licensing organizations is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also required.
SKILLS
- Demonstrable knowledge of psychometric expertise in classical and IRT test theories and their applications.
- Familiar/proficient with Microsoft Office including EXCEL and IRT software such BILOG-MG, WINSTEPS, PARSCALE, IRTPro, or FlexMIRT.
- Knowledge and experience using SAS, SPSS, R, Python programming.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel.
