As a Project Assistant with FTI Consulting, you'll be s upporting the lifecycle of an engagement, including opening new matters, engaging with matter owners (BTKs) to assess risk, helping to drive timely billing and collections, engaging with Core Accounting and Segment Finance to assist with revenue recognition, and closing matters when completed.
What You'll Do
- Work closely with BTKs throughout the project lifecycle with primary objectives to ensure timely, accurate and professional invoices are sent to clients, reduce DSO and bad debt, and ensure accounting has the necessary information to accurately record engagement revenue.
- Review new matters for assigned BTKs and setup e-billing requirements, task codes, invoice templates, contact information, etc.
- Prepare invoices and ensure alignment with fee arrangements/terms per Letters of Engagement.
- Interface with BTKs to assess risk and perform collections follow-up.

Basic Qualifications
- BS/BA degree strongly preferred. Minimum 5 years overall experience in engagement management, including billing and collections, in a law firm or other professional services environment.
- Experience with Excel is required.
- Experience with Elite Enterprise financial systems is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with all levels of the organization. Candidate will have frequent interaction with senior management personnel.
- Proven ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced environment.
- Travel required to clients and to FTI office(s).
