Pediatric Behavioral Health Nurse, RN - Crittenton Children's Center - Full Time Days

Crittenton Children's Center is the Kansas City area's premier provider of psychiatric care for children, adolescents and their families. This location is Magnet designated and uses evidence-based therapies to help children learn to regulate their emotions, build communication skills, and develop lifelong strategies for resilience and strength. For more than 150 years we've cared for the emotional health of Kansas City's children and families. Today, Crittenton offers one of the area's most comprehensive behavioral health care programs.

We are currently hiring for a day shift RN.

Shift: 7:00 am - 7:30pm,3 days/week (no weekends - Mon.-Fri.)

As a Pediatric Behavioral Health Nurse you will have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team of therapists, physicians, and nurse practitioners where your voice is heard and your input directly impacts patient care. You will meet with the treatment team daily to discuss care plans, changes in treatments, discharges, admissions and more. You will provide patient education to the patients and their families

This position will give you the opportunity to:

We are looking for nurses with a passion for helping kids. We will provide you a customized on boarding experience based on your skills and experience. Our orientation includes education around caring for and building relationships with this patient population. This is something that is very important to us and our patients.


  • Responsibilities:
  • Functions independently and accountable for utilizing the nursing process.
  • Coordinates the care for a group of patients with the Multidisciplinary Team.
  • Delegates tasks appropriately.
  • Identifies hospital resources.
  • Serves as a clinical resource for new employees.
  • Demonstrates positive formal or informal leadership within unit or department.

Required:
  • Associates degree; bachelors preferred
  • Current MO RN license
  • 1 - 2 years of related experience, preferably in mental health
  • Must be team orientated
