About the Opportunity
This position is responsible for providing administrative support to senior members of the professional staff and members of the research staff. The position requires a full understanding of the active case work in the office, the ability to connect client matters with Compass Lexecon team members and outside counsel, and coordinate important dates and deadlines related to these matters. Other responsibilities include the following:
- Generate and edit documents using the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
- Organize, file, and route electronic and hardcopy client documents, correspondence and other materials to appropriate team members.
- Assist in production of client reports and report back-up materials.
- Assist with client work including electronic research, report formatting, exhibits, charts, and tables.
- Process conflict search requests for potential new clients; submit appropriate information for the creation of new clients for inclusion in our Client Information database.
- Organize and plan complicated travel arrangements.
- Manage work deadlines and plan support work accordingly.
- Maintain business calendar, plan and arrange business meetings and luncheons.
- Answer and screen phone calls in a professional manner taking accurate messages; respond to caller's needs appropriately.
- Assist with arrangements for meetings with clients and outside organizations.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
- Serve as a liaison with office and parent-company management.
- High level of proficiency in software applications such as Microsoft Office especially Excel and Word; Adobe Acrobat Reader and Distiller.
- Ability to accurately proofread documents for both clarity and grammatical errors.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in an effective and efficient manner.
- Professional demeanor; ability to work effectively with all levels within Compass Lexecon, FTI and client organizations.
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a demanding, high expectation environment while maintaining accuracy and control.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to understand office policies, procedures, and processes and application to casework.
- Ability to listen to instructions and ask appropriate follow-up questions based on scope of work.

- Prior experience with managing appointments/calendars and coordinating travel arrangements.
- 2+ years work experience supporting senior-level professionals in a legal or consulting environment or equivalent experience.
