The Jr. Network Engineer is responsible for designing, integrating, and maintaining customer networks. In addition, day-to-day duties will include establishing standards within the network infrastructure and supporting Tiers 1 & 2 network related break-fixes.

Responsibilities

• Perform network management design, integration and maintenance for LANs, and WLANs; and converged networks.
• Consult on scope and specification requirements for bids and contracts.
• Conduct site surveys and site assessments and complete the associated documentation or designs
• Monitor protocol compatibility, performs system tuning, and makes recommendations for improvement.
• Assist in developing and implementing a multi-system capacity plan.
• Interact and engage with customers to ensure their expectations and requirements are met
• Must be willing and able to acquire assigned OEM certifications (Cisco/Aruba/Juniper)
• Effectively communicate with various stakeholders through written and oral means
• Set priorities and successfully complete tasks in a timely manner
• Work independently with little direction to meet schedules and timelines
• Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with customers, OEMs, and distributors
• Must be able to lift 25lbs and climb ladders as required.
• Occasional travel throughout the CONUS (less than 20%).

Qualifications

Education:
  • Degree from a recognized college or university with a relevant major such as computer science, information systems, or a related field.
  • Qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education


Experience:
  • 0-3 years of journey level experience installing, designing, configuring and/or maintaining route/switch networks, Wi-Fi systems or converged systems.
  • Working knowledge and experience with route/switch and Wi-Fi environments
  • Experience with a major enterprise network switching vendor product line such as Aruba Networks, Juniper or Cisco is preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:
  • Relevant Cisco/Aruba/Juniper certifications is a plus
