Research and implement analysis methods to characterize treatment response and develop predictive biomarkers. Develop R libraries for biomarker data management, translational informatics, and biomarker-driven clinical research with minimal guidance. Develop and execute data processing, quality control (QC) and analysis pipelines for biomarker data such as flow cytometry, TCR sequencing, next-generation sequencing (DNA, RNA), gene expression, IHC and other immunoassays. Develop documentation and data specifications; perform source code validation and application testing. Contribute and lead as requested internal research & development projects related to computational methods and/or platform development. Work with other team members to provide guidance on programming tasks related to data processing, QC and analysis pipelines. Communicate complex results and novel methodologies to clients and other stakeholders. Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Bachelor of Science degree or foreign equivalent in physics, biology, or a related field.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: One (1) year of experience in the field of computational biology.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
EXPERIENCE OR EDUCATION EXPERIENCE IN:
- Advanced proficiency with R programming language, R package development, Bioconductor data analysis libraries, and scientific programming practices
- Experience using machine learning for biological applications
- Experience using biostatistical methodology for high-dimensional data applications
- Experience with real-world health data, patient reported data, and clinical data
- Experience with multiple omics data (e.g. gene expression data, metabolite data etc.) modalities and technologies
- Knowledge in biological foundations of sequencing technologies
- Knowledge in cell and molecular biology
- Experience with source code management systems such as git; ability to work expertly under Unix/Linux environment; familiarity with Docker and AWS
- Experience with biological knowledge data management and knowledge integration with molecular data for biomarker development
