Summary

The Transportation Logistics Analyst is responsible for compiling & analyzing data together to generate actionable insight, answer complex freight cost & market trend questions, and to help understand our Carriers rate structure and industry changes. As a Transportation Logistics Analyst, you will be focused on logistics financial analysis for all inbound & outbound freight costs to support internal and external customers. The ability to build key relationships within internal teams and customers is key to success in the role; communication skills are vital.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage our international & domestic transportation cost, freight logistics and planning to support Warehouse Operations, SCM, Sales / Service, and Finance organizations.
  • Support all modes of domestic and international transportation (FTL/FCL, LTL/LCL, Air Freight, and Parcel).
  • Negotiate Shipping Contracts with all Carriers, Forwarders, Transportation Companies, including benchmark analysis strategies to support freight requirements for current and prospective shipping lanes.
  • Perform cost analysis to support & publish monthly / quarterly / annually freight cost metrics.
  • Conduct research for competitive price, market trend analysis to support cost savings initiatives.
  • Develop, implement & maintain business processes to ensure compliance of contract pricing.
  • Communicate effectively across all business units including presentations to Executive Management teams in Warehouse Operations, SCM, Sales, Service & Finance.
  • Perform carrier's monthly & quarterly business reviews (score cards) against Service Level Agreements, Key Performance Indicators, and operational requirements.
  • Analyze historical data to identify trends, root cause analysis and help drive continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with the Global Trade Compliance Team for various ad hoc requests and projects.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, 8+ years of related experience, or other field directly related to the position's specific responsibilities.
  • 5+ years' experience in high volume Transportation Freight Logistics and Distribution Operations.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Suite (Excel and PowerPoint Expertise), Data Analytics, Data Aggregation and Reports.
  • Experience with basic SQL and data visualization tools such as Tableau/ Power BI
  • Strong critical thinking and detailed oriented aptitude for solving unstructured problems and in-depth projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to express well-reasoned, independent thought.
  • Natural ability to speak and write effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent understanding of the entire International and Domestic Transportation Logistics, inventory control, warehouse operations, customer order fulfillment, and reverse logistics.
  • Experience in working with Third Party Logistics and service providers managing requirements, service, cost, and quality.
  • Proven ability to master analytical software, databases, and functionality.
