Job Description
The Procedural Scheduler is responsible for scheduling, registering, and coordinating patients for multiple services, including but not limited to outpatient appointments and procedures, surgical procedures and diagnostic testing. Coordinators have a mastery of computerized scheduling and registration systems with multiple software applications.

Professional and excellent customer service interactions required with all levels of staff, management, physicians, patients and families.

Accurately obtains information to properly schedule and register patients for services. Responsible for obtaining appropriate medical records and clinical information to schedule patient appropriately. Uses analytical thinking, independent judgment and professionalism to adjust service area schedules and accommodate special requests from physicians, management, and internal and external customers.

Procedural Schedulers work across various departments within the health system as well as with external organizations to aid the clinical team in tracking patients. Works closely with clinic management, neurosurgeon, and nurse clinicians to establish a seamless continuity of care for highly complex patients. Handles all scheduling and coordination of appointments for surgical and non-surgical patients. Hands off all clinical concerns and inquiries to assigned nurse clinician or neurosurgeon in a time-sensitive manner. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, highly organized, and able to balance competing priorities appropriately. Coordination and organization with outside vendors (Medtronic, Intraoperative monitoring, etc.) will also be required.
