About the Role

The Information Technology Group (ITG) is a collection of people, processes and technology investments that are designed to achieve the business goals of FTI Consulting. Incumbent acts as a technical support advisor to FTI Consulting staff in all practice areas on all information technology issues and provides state-of-the-art technical solutions in support of computer and local area networks. May also provide technical support to FTI Consulting clients on billable engagements. Assumes ownership role on internal help desk and provides applications and systems support, Cisco IP Telephony, application and network systems administration and seeks to document user requirements of FTI staff in the pursuit of providing solutions to their technical needs. Provides mid-level support, and detailed knowledge of computer software and hardware, Mid-level network operating systems, PC applications, Internet services, multi-media and messaging software used in FTI. It is expected that this incumbent will work as a part of the ITG team in a customer support role for all business and technology related issues at the local office level. The ability to work in a team environment is required.

What You'll Do
  • Works as a technology support advocate for all FTI Consulting staff in all practice areas. May act as the liaison between office and systems integrators and/or vendors when appropriate.
  • Works within the IT group in the definition, documentation and implementation of appropriate processes and procedures to continuously improve the technology support within FTI Consulting.
  • Works within the IT group while working with FTI practice areas and corporate staff to establish technology user requirements that the entire ITG will use to define and design solutions to.
  • Works within the IT group in maintaining a knowledge base of all client care services and applications used in FTI Consulting. Acts as an advocate for the staff in the resolution of any and all computer-related problems or issues. Assists in writing, structuring, and organizing technical procedures.
  • Provide mid-level support in the configuration, installation and troubleshooting of software applications and databases on workstations, file and application servers.
  • Provide support in the configuration, installation and troubleshooting of Cisco Ip Telephony software and provides for administration of handsets and related cabling and configurations.
  • Configures and supports all ITG approved wireless devices.
  • Maintains thorough understanding of video equipment installed in the office and can provide audio and video calling assistance for staff.


Provide support in maintaining adequate experience with application software installation and use. Remains knowledgeable of and experienced with using operating systems on workstations and servers. Is familiar with local and wide area network concepts, , LAN/WAN connectivity, and data communications protocols. Remains competent and understands desktop and laptop hardware components and ITG supported software, including messaging clients, web browsers and Internet, anti-virus software, office productivity applications, and time entry systems.

Basic Qualifications
  • Must have a B.S college degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 or more technical certification credentials like Network+ or Security+.
  • Must have ITIL Foundations certification.
  • Must have superior customer service skills.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a mid to large enterprise company.
  • Excellent communication (written & verbal), planning, organization, and administrative skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) .
  • Work experience with Windows Servers, AD, Group Policy, O365 and Windows 10 operating systems.
  • Experience providing on-call support via voice and remote access tools.


Preferred Skills
  • Detailed knowledge of current leading-edge PC workstation and server hardware and software including networking and communications interfaces and relationships.
  • Experience providing on-call support via voice and remote access tools.
  • Ability to flex working hours as required to meet business needs.
  • Periodic travel required, sometimes with little notice.
  • Occasional physical labor, which may include moving equipment or furniture up to 50 lbs. and flexibility to crawl underneath desks or tables to access network jacks and electric receptacles.
  • Positive Attitude and self-motivated.
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize work demands.
  • Ability to grasp fundamentals quickly and instruct others in their use.
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work on your own and as part of a team.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities.
